These drawings came to me one by one over a period of time when my own personal revolution was undeniably in motion. Each one came forth fast and powerfully
intermittently over about a year’s time. Not one mark was erased nor one drawing
discarded. I piled them on the floor of my studio between glassine sheets, not sure of
their purpose or relevance. I only knew that they were the only thing I could make during
this period of time. Obedience was the only motivation. Obedience to pure instinct.
The only “rule” being that they all wear a crown.

While working I was completely unaware that each of these works possessed
a clear and concise truth that was in a process of becoming entirely conscious
and embodied in me. It was not until I finally hung them all as a series that
I was made aware of what had been communicated. Each drawing a phenomenon
that carried with Her an archetype, a Deity with a message. The definitive and
decisive “I AM” with the power to ascend and to destroy all doubt and lies.

Phenomena must be met with awareness of its existence.
It is then that there can be transformation that resolves in triumph.
